You are bidding on a WW2 M1 Carbine stock made by Winchester. It is an oval cut type 2 that was modified to a type 3. Made from Black American walnut, it has "W" stamped in the slingwell. T is 'WRA/GHD' and a crossed cannons cartouche on the right side of the buttstock. T is also a Rock Island arsenal rebuild stamp on the left side of the butt stock and a circled 'P' on the front of the pistol grip. It has the signature profile of the flat bottomed Winchester forestock. Stock has usual small dents and dings one would expect from a WW2 stock. T is an arsenal repair for a chip of wood that was reglued behind the recoil plate and a chip of wood that was reglued between the trigger guard and the escutcheon (see photos). The repairs lay very flat and don't distract at all from the appearance of the stock. The different photos show different shades of color. The true color is the darker shade. The handguard is a 2 rivet, type 2. It's not a Winchester, but matches nicely. The stock appears to have been a well used, does have some small repairs and has been sanded, but it is a Winchester and has a decent cartouche. I've included a early Winchester buttplate and band spring. No other metal is included. If you have questions or need more photos, please ask. S & H is $15.00 and no international sales. Thanks for looking.
