This is Volume I of Winston Churchill's Second World War, The Gathering Storm, Third English Edition published by Cassell in 1950 and signed by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill on the title page. 724 pages in a true third edition unclipped dust jacket. Condition of the dust jacket is as follows: Front cover retains good color, spine somewhat faded and rubbed with upper and lower edges worn. T are small tears up to 1/2" near the upper and lower spine. Unclipped with the 25sNet price in place. The edges are browned but the paper is still strong, pliable and interior flap color is exceptional. Condition of the book: Bound in black cloth which is unfaded anyw T are light scuff or handling marks that can be seen on the front board. The corners are slightly bent with minor fraying. No losses to top or bottom board edges. Gold gilt on the spine is still bright with no loss. The binding is sound. Top page edge stain has faded to pink and shows signs of dust, which is common...especially for a 60 year old book that has lived in the climate of the United Kingdom. Side and bottom page edges are mostly clean with no browning or foxing. The front interior hinge has begun to separate, the rear hinge is intact. All pages clean, pliable and near perfect. A strong and flowing signature in blue ink which was common for the day. From the read more
