Winterling Bavarian China, Dawn Rose, 95-Pc Set - Vintage Up for bid is a beautiful 95-piece set of fine china made by Oscar Schaller & Co. of Kirchenlamitz, Germany (Bavaria) later becoming a part of Winterling Bros Thanks to a wonderful ebayer for identifying and giving us more details about this set. He told us the mark was used by Oscar Schaller between 1918 and 1950. After that, Winterling put on their mark. The pattern is Dawn Rose, which features gray roses with just a hint of pink. They are in the center and all around the edge. The edges are ornately scalloped and trimmed with a heavy gold band. This set was purchased in the early 1900's. T are twelve, 7-pc place settings plus several serving pieces. This is such an incredible set; we decided to put it up for auction as a complete set. If t is no interest, we will piece it out in the future. It is valued between $2000 and $2300Of the 95 pieces, only 4 have very small chips that do not detract from the utility or the beauty of the dishes. In fact, the lady who brought them in to sell from an estate was not aware of any chips and she thought she had looked the dishes over very well. We will point those out, as well. This is one of the most elegant sets we have seen and it is available to the lucky bidder just in time for the holidays.
