WITCH SALEM MASSACHUSETTS D LOW STERLING SOUVENIR SPOON
This great full size early sterling silver souvenir spoon from Salem Massachusetts brings us back to the days of the Salem Witch trials and is the first pattern design created by Durgin for Daniel Low of Salem Massachusetts in 1892. This was made to commemorate the Salem Witch Trials 200th Anniversary. This design is credited to be the first spoon to start collecting souvenir spoon craze, which lasted until mid 1950's. These spoon features raised in relief witch perched on her broom, in the midst of casting a wicked spell! Watch out! This spells out Salem on the handle, and on the handle are the crossed three witch pins with which she supposedly poked her victims in the form of a doll. It dates circa 1892. This has hallmark marking and STERLING, DANIEL LOW on the reverse. You will be highly pleased with this great Witch spoon! Measures 5 3/4" long, and is in excellent condition.
