I have over 30 of the Longines Collector Coins, my grandfather left them to me and I don’t have the desire to keep them – I will be listing them all over the next few days. If you are looking for one in particular send me a note and I will look to see if I have it!The LONGINES COLLECTORS COIN (STATUE OF LIBERTY) TWO CENTURIES OF LIBERTY WITH REAL DIAMOND INLAYS BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED SILVER COIN.Longines minted a series of beautiful sterling silver coins. This one is truly great looking in new condition with its own mint series # on rim. This coin weighs in at a total of 45 grams 41 of which would be all silver. The coin is over 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The value of the silver continues to rise and will only be part of this coins value. This coin makes a great gift or a nice coin to keep for you. THIS piece, like many other coins and medals minted in this era, experienced severe withdrawal from the collector market into the melting pots during the "great silver melts" of the late 1970s and 1980s (caused primarily by the run-up of silver prices by the Hunt brothers). Plus no one knows how many of these silver pieces are left with all this melting, Effects of the silver melts and the popularity of the subject matter makes certain items extremely collectable and an interesting addition to any collection.
