RECENT ESTATE ACQUISITION! Beautiful engraved tea and coffee set made by William B. Durgin for J.B. Hudsons. Signed and engraved November 14th, 1906. And the owners name. Durgin was founded in 1853 in Concord, New Hampshire. By the 1860s Durgin had a prosperous sterling silver business. Tragically William B. Durgin and his son George F. Durgin died in 1905. The company was acquired by Gorham soon afterwards. J.B. Hudsons was founded in 1886 by Josiah Bell Hudson and owned by the Dayton Hudson Co. in 1929. Sterling Silver of this quality is not often found. This magnificent set consists of Coffee pot, tea pot, tea kettle and stand, waste bowl and sugar and creamer. Fully engraved and one side mongramed "GSS", the other side blank. Good condition, small dents in all, larger dent in creamer. Coffee pot measures 9 inches in height and holds 4 pints. It weighs 1 pound and 9 ounces. Waste bowl measures 3 1/2" in height. It weighs 9 ounces. Covered sugar bowl measures 4 1/2" in height. It weighs 14 1/2 ounces. The creamer measures 3 1/2" in height. It hold 3/4 of a pint. It weighs 7 1/2 ounces. Tea pot measures 5 1/2" in height. It holds 3 pints. It weighs 1 pound 6 1/2 ounces. Tea Kettle measures 5 1/2" in height. It holds 5 pints. It weighs 1 pound 15 ounces. Tea Stand measures 4 1/2" in height. It weighs 1 pound 13 ounces. Total weight 138.5 ounces of sterling silver. All servers stamped 880, J.B.
