Offered for your bids is a scarce unusual Universal Kitchen Tool patented by William H. Thayer in 1881. Yankee magazine had a write-up on this tool in an August 1984 issue of their magazine. This strange cast iron tool can be used as a Candle Holder, a Meat Tenderizer, a Lid Lifter for Pots, a Pot and Plate Holder, a Wood Stove Lid Lifter and a Trivet. This example is made of cast iron and maintains 120 plus year patina of age and use. I believe this to be an early pre-patent version, since it is not marked with Thayer's name nor patent date. Add this unusual piece of by-gone kitchenalia to your collection. John Ellwood appraises it's value in his book at $85.00. Offered at a low opening bid with no reserve.
NOTE: Bidding restricted to residents of the 50 States
