We were asked the following ~
What markings are there on the flatware to indicate they are really gold plated ? Is the underlying metal sterling silver, or steel ?
There are no markings on the flatware except the name Wm. Rogers & Son & China. We have based how we have described the pieces on information gathered from Wm. Rogers & Son sites as well as replacement Companies & dozens of other items that are similar or the same in description. The pattern is discontinued "Enchanted Rose", which we understand was created in "silver plate" and "gold plate". The individual pieces are not heavy, actually fairly lightweight ~ We cannot locate what the underlying metal is concerning this flatware. Partially why we started the auction so low. We are not allowed to change the description, due to an existing bid, so we will "question mark" the "Gold" here. Please contact us with any questions or concerns ~
