The artist takes you deep into the soul of some of the wild's most fascinating creatures with this plate series. Along the ridge, silhouetted against the rising moon, you first see what appears to be a lone dog cross the open expanse. Then two more, after a minute a fourth joins the others. Your first thought of course is coyotes. They're common in this part of the country. But these dogs are much larger and moor powerful. And even at this distance you can see that they command a presence like no coyote. Then a shimmer of reflected silver in the iridescent moonlight confirms it...
