This is a particularly fine example of a Japanese Haori. The silk lining is very high quality as shown in the fourth photo. The ties (haori-himos) are intact, faintly hand dyed, and quite collectible in and of themselves. One is pictured in the fifth photo. The pattern on the outside is that of soft rolling hills with trees and structures, along with still waters. Colors are creme, soft greens, browns and blues. The inside is a very rich ivory color brocade with some pink blossoms. Dimensions: A = 31" B = 25" C = 18" Haori is in mint condition with no stains, frays or holes. This vintage woman's silk Haori was meticulously hand sewn by a skilled Japanese craftsperson, and is of 1890 - 1945 vintage. It is considered a unique treasure. Fewer of Japan's young people are learning the complicated weaving and dyeing techniques necessary to produce these incredible textiles; they are becoming progressively more rare. All questions welcomed and answered in a timely manner. More photos available upon request. $10.00 United States Post Office Priority Mail shipping within the continental U.S. International shipping costs will be calculated upon end of auction.
