Wonderful Early American Stool with a Leather Cushion ______________________________________________________________________________________ Details of the Stool This is a wonderful early American stool with a leather cushion. This stool has a delicately shaped form with scrolled aprons, and nicely tapered handles on either side. The stool has an excellent dry surface, completely original and untouched. The leather cushion is actually in remarkable condition considering the age and actual use it would have incurred. The cushion itself is filled with straw and attached side to side with two large springs. Overall this stool is in excellent condtion with no breaks or losses to the wood surface. The leather on top has no splits or tears, but has a couple small wrinkles. On the underside a section of the leather has torn, and exposed the straw stuffing. This stool would most likely date to somew between 1870-1900. I am offering this unusual stool with no reserve and a modest opening bid. Please e-mail with any questions prior to bidding.
