In case you donâe(tm)t know Bill Mertsch he was a discerning collector of early New Hampshire antiques and was a well loved member of the New Hampshire Dealers association in its early days when the yearly show was in Concord, New Hampshire with period cupboards full of new Hampshire Redware, Rush lights and Mocha! It was heaven to see the quality everyw in those days! Well, this Wonderful Early Hanging Candle Lighting Device was one of Billâe(tm)s choice items he bought with him and we purchased it from him. It is from the rural town of Warren , N.H. in the foothills of the White Mountains . He believed it was created by a late Eighteen Century blacksmith for the Early Patch House which now has sadly been removed from the town. This circa 1780s piece has excellent early surface as you can see in my wifeâe(tm)s great photos. Some light rust and pitting, which is typical of pieces of this era. T are 3 candle holders around the 15 inch circle, 11 inch shaft with great Sheppardâe(tm)s hook attached to adjustable chain links (6) with a super âeoeSâe hook with large loop on top. Overall length drops down 24 inches, but can be adjusted lower by hooking one of the chain links into the âeoeSâe Hook . Looks great lit up at night ! Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance to your Postal Zone. Weight of device is almost 4 lbs, by itself without box or any packing materials. We offer careful packing, low starting bid and no hidden reserve; check out our great feedback!
