Up for your consideration is a wonderfully quilted, hand pieced 8 Point Star Quilt. This quilt was found at a Pelzer, South Carolina estate sale last year. There are 9 blocks with the 8 Point Star squares measuring 15 inches, the stars are stitched on top of the square sized 14" x 13". One star has a solid light pink fabric measuring 9" x 3" this is added as friendship star. Please view the last picture for more detail. The Quilt has 7 - 8 SPI on both the front and reverse sides. Very pretty and soft and still retains the brights colors. Batting is a medium weight and you can see the cotton beading when held up to the light. This beauty will look wonderful on your bed, sofa or hung as a wall as a piece of textile art. The quilt is in qood used condition - there are small pop outs on 1 star in the red material which could be fixed easily. The pop outs are so small they would not show in the pictures. I feel these small irregularities add to the history and character of this very lovely quilt. Because of the age of the quilt it's more for special times, hung over the sofe or wall art. An antique would not hold up well with the usual day to day use on a bed. Please keep the quilts made by our ancestors alive by purchasing the American Antique Quilts over the cheaper foreign imitations.
