At auction is a Fujica GS645 Professional rangefinder camera made by Fujica (now known as Fujifilm) of Japan. Fujica introduced this camera in 1983. It is a medium format folding camera that uses 120 or 220 film to produce 6X4.5mm negatives. It will provide 15 shots with 120 film and 30 shots with 220 film. The shutter, with speeds 1 - 500, works well at all speeds and the speeds sound about right to the ear. It is a between-the-lens leaf shutter. The shutter speed ring moves smoothly and easily. This camera has a combination viewfinder and rangefinder that is clean and clear with no fungus, haze or dust. The rangefinder has a bright focusing spot and it is well aligned. The viewfinder has a bright-line frame that automatically adjusts for parallax. When held normally, the viewfinder format is vertical (portrait). The non-interchangeable lens that comes with this camera is the coated 75mm EBC Fujinon S f/3.4 lens that is clean and clear with no scratches, fungus, or haze. These Fujinon lenses have legendary sharpness. The aperture control ring works smoothly and easily. The diaphragm blades and the shutter blades are free of oil, grease and rust.
