At auction is a Fujica GS645 Professional rangefinder camera made by Fujica (now known as Fujifilm) of Japan. Fujica introduced this camera in 1983. It is a medium format folding camera that uses 120 or 220 film to produce 6X4.5mm negatives. It will provide 15 shots with 120 film and 30 shots with 220 film. The shutter, with speeds 1 - 500, works well at all speeds and the speeds sound about right to the ear. It is a between-the-lens leaf shutter. The shutter speed ring moves smoothly and easily. This camera has a combination viewfinder and rangefinder that is clean and clear with no fungus, haze or dust. The rangefinder has a bright focusing spot and it is well aligned. The viewfinder has a bright-line frame that automatically adjusts for parallax. When held normally, the viewfinder format is vertical (portrait). The non-interchangeable lens that comes with this camera is the coated 75mm EBC Fujinon S f/3.4 lens that is clean and clear with no scratches, fungus, or haze. These Fujinon lenses have legendary sharpness. The aperture control ring works smoothly and easily. The diaphragm blades and the shutter blades are free of oil, grease and rust. The focus control ring moves smoothly and easily. The camera has a built in light meter that has an LED display in the viewfinder with the symbols "+ 0 -". Though it has not been evaluated by a technician, the meter is working well and responds quickly to changes in light. The bellows were recently replaced and are just like new. When closing the front door of the GS645 camera, it is important to set the lens focus to infinity or it might cause damage to the door mechanism . The camera and lens are in excellent+ cosmetic condition with only the most minor signs of use. There is some very minor scuffing of the bottom plate. This camera presents very well. The leatherette covering is perfect. There is no brassing on any painted parts of the camera body. All camera and lens functions work well . The camera will come with the original neck strap. T his camera is fully usable and would be a very reliable. Also, when folded up, this medium-format camera can fit in a large pocket. The flat rate for shippingwithin USA is $10.00 .
