First, let me apologize for the pictures. I did not realize how difficult it was to take pictures of a clear bottle. If anyone knows a better way to show the detail of this bottle and it's etching, please let me know and I will add pictures. That said, this bottle is guessed to be from around the revolutionary war period, or the 18th century. It is etched on one side with words in French, which spells like this "Frinh aus freund", which translates loosely as Drink As a Friend, which someone said means basically Drink as it the bottle or what was in it was a friend. Anyhow, thats all I know. On the other side is etched design in the middle somewhat like a flower, but it isn't. The front also has over the words a bow like design. This bottle has no seams, and has the pontil mark. It has a tiny chip or knick on the rim. It measures 6" high and 5 1/4" wide. It could have been a soldiers booze bottle. It came from an estate of a man who collected many antiques of all styles and types over 60 years. Most of these were from the 18th and 19th Century. Watch my auction for more. As I am no expert at bottles, ask questions. A nice possible 300 or so year old bottle for any collection.
