Wonderful Pair of 19th C. American Tin Wall Sconces This is a wonderful pair of mid to late 19th century tin wall sconces with candle holders. The surface on the pair is great with a nice natural and undisturbed patina. They are made in an unusual form and size, but look fabulous hanging on the wall. I believe this pair of sconces to be a make-do set, somewhat crudely fashioned by the maker to resemble more elaborate sconces. The condition is very good, although one sconce has had an early repair done with a stiff fiber and secured to the base with two screws(note photo 5). This repair is quite old and really does not deter from the charm and delightfulness of these folk art sconces. You will be very happy with the pair, and they will look great hanging in your home.
