~~~~~~~~~~ This is a very fine instrument in fantastic condition, by Seth Thomas from the early days of the last century! The Seth Modena has classic styling that will always be a highlight of any decor! ~~~ The clock's beautiful mahogany case has been freshly refinished to bring out the beauty of the wood grain and the lovely shaded marqueterie. The case is very clean and undamaged! The 5" heavy beveled lens is held in a heavy cast brass sash, and protects the bright convex porcelain dial. The numbers and printing on the dial are crisp and clean, and the porcelain is in great condition with no chips or hairlines! ~~~~~ The clock is powered by an 8-day Seth 48R movement that is running strong and keeping good time. Adjustments to the movement should be anticipated after shipment. It is not known when the movement was last serviced, but it looks like it is well lubricated. The strike train also functions well, sounding once at the half-hour, and then counting the hour on a cathedral coiled gong. ~~~~~~~ The brass has all been cleaned and brought back to it's original luster, giving the entire clock a crisp clean appearance. The clock stands 12" high, and it is 8" across the base. ~~~~~~~ This is a clock that you will be very proud to display! ~~~~~~~ Payment with a money order will get next day shipment. The clock will be very carefully protected and packed to assure its safe arrival. Postal insurance will be required with the amount determined by the final auction value. Offshore buyers will be contacted at the end of the auction to determine payment and shipping arrangements. ~~~~~~~
