with marked Sterling 2` floral chased domed knob engraved Augt. M. Schilling/May 12-1893/3026 Lake Park Ave., mounted on a tapered hardwood shaft with spiral carved ribbon banner reading Little Round Top Sept. 24th 1892-26th National Encampment with 3 wonderfully detailed carved vignettes of artilleryman with inscription 15th N.Y./Battery, cavalryman with inscription 17th Pennsylv. Cavalry and infantryman with inscription First Mass./Infantry all in battlefield setting, applied silver arrow engraved Carved By L. Dux, in original varnish finish, total length 33`. August M. Schilling enlisted in March of 1865 into Co. K of the 49th PVI. While Schilling joined this unit late he still saw action at Petersburg and Sailor`s creek. Lot includes a printed soldiers and unit history from Civil War Database.
