Up for bids: One early vintage tool-wiping accessory owned by Christopher Schwarz, editor of Popular Woodworking magazine. Condition: A little less than fine, but it could easily be fixed up to be a good worker. Some holes and pitting. A few frayed edges. Some excess lubricant, but nothing that a good washing and mending won't fix. Suitable for framing. A one-of-a-kind collectible that any collector of lubricated cotton goods would be proud to display! This wiping accessory, called "woobie" on Schwarz's blog, measures approximately 13-1/2" by 25" and is gray. It was fished from the bottom of his trash barrel after he discarded it. Woobie has been touched and looked upon by many woodworking stars, including David Charlesworth, Thomas Lie-Nielsen and Marc Adams. It has wiped the soles of Holteys and Sauer & Steiners. Wow!I hate to get rid of the woobie, but hard times have forced me to sell it for beer. (Note: plane NOT included!)Own a piece of woodworking history! No reserve. Don't let this one slip away!
