NO RESERVE …………………………………………………………………………………………..………………………………………………………. This auction is for an old Wood Chess Board , that folds into a carry case box , and also 3 different sets of Chessman . The Chess Board Box , when closed up , measures approx. 20 1/2 inch long , 10 inch wide , and about 2 5/8 inch high . When it is opened up flat into a playing board , it measures approx. 20 1/2 inch , by about 20 1/4 inch , with 2 3/8 inch squares . The black squares are painted on the wood board . The Board Box shows a lot of use , with nicks and scrapes . I can see also where the joints have likely been repairs , but is tight . The latch needs some fixing and the hinges are loose , plus one pin has been replaced . In general it needs a little attention , to put is in nice condition . All three different Chessmen sets have all the pieces . There are too many for me to look over closely , but setting them up for my photos , I did not see any terrible damage to any of them . All 3 sets are weighted pieces . I think the nicest looking set is the 1960s Era , Ganine Gothic Set . The tallest piece is this set is the King , at approx. 3 1/2 inch tall . The smallest is the Pawn , at approx. 1 3/4 inch . This set has a thin felt bottom n the pieces , like a felt paper , maybe .The most common looking Chess pieces is a Champion Set , from likely the 1 950s . The King is approx. 4 inches tall , and the Pawn , about 2 inches . These have felt bottoms , but one pawn is missing the felt .The third Set is the one that has Elephant Rooks , and Knights on horse back . This set is likely the least desirable set , I think . The detail on the figures , I am not impressed with , but that is just my opinion . The King is approx. 4 inch tall , and the Pawn is about 2 5/8 inch tall . All the pieces have felt bottoms .All the pieces need some cleaning , but otherwise all are present and in OK condition . The maximum shipping cost , ( 13 lbs. , 29x12x5 , Insured Parcel Post ) , will be approximately $21.95 ( West Coast to East Coast ) . Alaska and Hawaii could cost more , so please email me for that shipping cost , prior to your bidding .
