AMIDANYORAI STATUE with ZUSHI Genuine antique Wooden "Amidanyorai" ( /html/amida.shtml ) statue with 'Gyokugan' ( Glass eyes ) in 'Zushi' ( http://www.aisf.or.jp/~jaanus/deta/z/zushi.htm ) box in mint but aged condition from Edo period around mid-late 18th century. Very stately and calm ... Though the condition of this important statue is aged, it is clear that the portrait of god or monk was painted and still remained at the gold-foiled door of Zushi ( see picture#6 ). Also, unconfirmable writing ( painting ) at the bottom of Zushi's inside ( picture#11 ). Please see this beautiful statue carefully, feel the total patina ,and understand its scarcity value.
