This auction is for a fantastic hand turned wooden boxmade by Japanese artist Maiko Okuno at her studio in the Ishikawa Prefecture,Japan. The box has been turned by hand out of a single solid piece of Mizumezakura wood (a type of birch) before being precisely cut to shape with hand tools. Finally Okuno has gently sanded the box and lacquered it all over by hand making it completely smooth to the touch. It’s really a sensational piece of craftsmanship and will work equally well on display or for actually storing small items. The box measures W6 x H4.5 cm and is clearly signed on the bottom. The condition is mint condition with no damage or any signs of wear. Shipping this piece by air as regular mail at your own risk is $7 ( Europe ) or $11 (rest of the world). Worldwide track & trace is only $14 extra regardless of your location. Insurance is also possible but not for all countries so if you’re interested in this service, please ask for more details before you bid.
