PIONEER CIGAR FACTORY 1920-1960 Emil Schantz, master cigar maker, last operated his Pioneer Cigar Factory out of the basement of the house w I grew up on Chicago's Near North Side, until 1960 when he died. In 1967, when my family bought it and moved in, his widow told us whatever was left was ours... and that included the cigar factory records, receipts, and equipment. The house has since been torn down, but some of the old equipment and memoribilia still remains, along with my memories. The Pioneer Cigar customers were from both sides of the law in the gangster's heydey in Chicago. NOTE: Only the Wooden Cigar Mold is offered The photos of the cigar box, label, and chopper are only to show its history and are not offered for sale in this auction. Brand: Durex Size: 12" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/2"
