Dogon statue of a hermaphrodite with beard and small breasts, covering its face with the left hand and holding a child on its lap with the right hand, dark oily and encrusted patina, size 26,5 cm high and a weight of 484 gram. The Dogon are a group of people living in the central plateau region of Mali, south of the Niger bend near the city of Bandiagara in the Mopti region. They number just under 800,000. The Dogon are best known for their mythology, their mask dances, sculpture and their architecture. Shipping to Europe will be 18 USD and to the rest of the world 32 USD.
