fantastic Wooden machinist box or collectors tool box professionally made, with solid hardwoods and veneers painted a shabby black but could be restored inside has 4 drawers on dado runners, all felt lined with royal blue fabric, all neatly cut to the edges and stuck firmly inplace excellent for precision tool storage, calipers and micrometers, while larger tools stored in the lower compartment. the box is constructed from sturdy hardwoods, most over 1/2" thick with exception of front panel which is thinner drawers are very well made, open and close freely (no stops so can be removed) handles are in the shape of buttons and finely detailed, you can see extensive dovetailing for a rigid and lasting build probably made by a cabinet maker or fine woodworker, it is very finely finished and theres a good weight to it. there are sturdy handle on the side and brass edging on the door. the pictures should show all you need as for the layout and build quality. the hinged door at the front folds down and is hinged somewhat up from the base, it does not require everything to moved from infront of the box when opening, a very useful feature if on a bench. i purchased the box from a model maker some while ago, he kept his precision tools inside, calipers and micrometers as well as files and small fragile tools. the somewhat distressed outside is nice and does to attract attention to itself, you tools will be very safe is someone unwanted comes snooping through your stuff the box had a lock at one time, it has been partially removed, i dont have the skill or knowledge to fix it, would make a nice little project, it does still have the clasps on the top which do latch i have finished the inside in a royal blue felt, i thought it complemented the mahogany interior anyone who sees the box is immediately taken aback by the quality and finish, genuine reason for sale, i dont have the space for it anymore, i would rather it go to a new home where some valuables can be kept in it and appreciated, as my tools are usually quite grubby and i didnt want to spoil the lovely felt lining. the box is very heavy, 30kg i would estimate, collection is preferred, i will post if you require, please contact me prior to bidding for a quote, i will only ship to mainland due to size and weight Dimensions are : width is 27" 69cm depth is 10" 25cm height is 18.5" 47cm ( height not icluding handles add, 1" 2.5cm ) located in Torquay Devon happy to answer any questions, collection only paypal or cash is fine please contact me prior to arrange collection time, viewing can be arranged just let me know.
