Up for auction is a fabulous 1840 Victorian Era, Floral Motif, Hand Carved Wooden Wallpaper Block. This piece is an amazing example of handcrafted and fine attention to detail wood carving and craftsmanship. Carving a floral motif into the soild piece of wood and covering the design with material to absorb color for application was a true art. Measuring 12'' long and 6 1/2'' wide. This wonderful 168 year old example came from my grandmother's antique store and historical showroom that has been closed for over 25 years, after her passing. It has been in storage for so long and finally is seeing the light of day. I am sure that you will be pleased to own this antique print block as a part of your personal antique collection or for retail in an antique store. She had it displayed as a part of a historical theme porition of her store front and before that I heard it was apart of a collection displayed at a local historical Stagecoach Inn.
