Up for auction is this beautiful vintage silver trench watch. The watch case is silver and carries the FW makers mark , a Glasgow hallmark on the back cover and .925 the body of the case, and J (?) the hallmark date letter for 1916. The crystal appears to be an acrylic replacement with a few minor scratches. The hinged case is approximately 29 mm in diameter (excluding the lugs). The crown does not look original but is functional. The enamel dial is immaculate and has black roman numerals. The hands look original and retain their bluing. The case has a few dings around the back and the hinge pin protudes slightly as can be seen in the photos. The rear cover does close but there is a small gap as can also be seen. This jeweled movement winds, sets and runs well but due to the vintage of this piece please note that no guarantee is given.
