In this auction we are offering a 10.5" Cram's Universal Terrestrial Globe, displaying the political borders of c.a. 1946. WW II has just ended and it is before the dawn of the Cold War Era. Description: The Globe is made of card board, covered with paper representing the legend. Mounting is dowel style with a metal base and cast iron connector, both in a dark bronze finish. The legend includes rail road and trade routes with distance identification. Condition: The Globe is in fair condition for its age. Wrinkles and scuffmarks are visible throughout. Details are crisp and colors are vivid. No loss of paper. The base is good condition. T are only minor paint chips, no rust spots! Please see pictures for details. The age of the Globe has been based on the display of the political borders, which are as follows: Europe : It's post WWII, though Germany has not yet been divided. What is now the Czech Republic and Slovakia is shown as one: Czechoslovakia . Czechoslovakia and Austria had been occupied by Germany during WWII and now have re-gained their independence. Yugoslavia is visible, which has seized to exist. Russia is still shown as the USSR . Middle East / Asia : Israel has not yet replaced Palestine (1948). Jordan is listed as Trans Jordan.
