DESCRIPTION FOR THIS AUCTION Nice copy of "Out of This World" Vol 1 #1 published by Avon Publications in July of 1950. Contains stories by A.E. Vogt, Lester Del Ray, Ray Cummings and others (see scan for a list of all of the stories and articles) and a great cover. This pulp magazine is noted for its introduction of colored pages. It has two sections of colored pages and stories, apparently in an attempt to compete with comic books. This book is in pretty nice shape. Good cover color and gloss. Pages are mostly off-white to light tan and still supple. Spine is in nice shape with a little abrasion at the top and bottom. Has a corner crease on the upper right front cover, a couple of edge tears on the back and the edge wear common in these old pulps. Be sure and check my other sales. I will be listing tons of Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age comics - most in attractive lots. SHIPPING [IMPORTANT] - Ebay policy forces all shipments to be insured and include some sort of delivery confirmation. eBay does not allow buyers to opt out of those options to reduce shipping and handling cost (because eBay makes money off of shipping) so, unfortunately, those costs are included in the handling fee. Just factor the shipping cost into your bid. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases. If you do win more than one auction, please wait for an invoice so I can combine the shipments. eBay will not allow combined shipping once payment has been made. (I will even wait a week or so to combine sales if you plan on bidding on something in the current week - just let me know.) INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS! Comics and books are now eligible for eBay's "Global Shipping Program" so feel free to bid using that option. I cannot provide a shipping cost to the buyer since part of it is charged by a third party service and even the US portion of shipping is not determined until the buyer completes the check out process after the sale. eBay's rules make any other method of international shipping cost prohibitive so the "Global Shipping Program" is the only international shipping option available. ABOUT GRADING Insofar as grading is concerned, just check my feedback profile: 2700+ with 100% positive over more than 15 years on eBay - most of which involved sales of comics. If I screw something up I make it right. However, I do not guarantee individual grades on large lots. Like any other skilled grader, I will not be 100% on the mark all the time so I do not want to get into debates about one or two comics out of a hundred being off by a grade. Large lots typically sell for bargain prices so no nitpicking allowed. CGC, on the other hand, is on them. I do not back CGC grading. That is their job. I do adhere to current Overstreet grading standards. You comic folk out there should be familiar with that but, if not, you can bone up on it here "Ebay's Overstreet Grading Guide" . OTHER SALES I am a long-time eBay comic book guy who has been away for a few years doin' other stuff. I am a collector who buys collections that have books I want and then eventually sells the extras to recoup some of my cost so I can do it all over again. (Only way I can afford to play.) I have allowed my extras to get completely out of control so I intend to seriously pare down my comics.
