This pair of World War II Nikko (Nikon) binoculars were made in 1943 and are in very original condition with original steel and brass yoke mount that would have been used on Japanese Naval ships for spotting enemy aircraft. The objectives measure 60mm and they are marked: 10x 6 degree field of view. T are sliding sun shades that slide out an additional 50mm to shield the lenses from glare. Total length is 12" with sun shades not extended. Glass area of the huge eyepieces measure 20mm across. 65 degree angled eyepieces feature rhomboid prisms with the left side turning in an elliptical circle for interocular adjustment. Notice the 2-piece metal sights with the front one able to fold all the way down. Original green crinkle paint is still very nice. Also notice the leather and metal strap buckle that attaches to the leather eyepiece cover (also included but not shown in pictures). The super sturdy yoke mount has degree markings and the brass mounting shaft measures 28mm O.D. diameter. The yoke functions as it should-smooth and precise. The objective lenses are in excellent condition with no scratches, seperation, or other issues. The eyepieces are super clean with no problems though the left side focus adjustment is stiff.
