WORLD WAR II USS ARIZONA COLLECTION After talking with and sending photo's to Phillip Wiess Auction's in Long Island, N.Y. It was his suggestion to sell the collection together, not to seperate it as it was a World War II , USS Arizona archive. This collection revolves around the life of a young sailor named David Archie Ingraham FC3C. David died on Dec 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor aboard the USS Arizona. David grew up in Topeka Ks. Items up for auction. 1. Crossing the Line with the USS Arizona July 1940, this is a soft cover book that details the ceremony when crossing the equaitor, t are photos of the Arizona, her commanding officer's, photo's of the ceremony , written text about how a pollywog becomes a shellback. A list of the crew. David Ingraham's name is listed on the crew. 2. Two original telegrams that David's family recieved , one dated Dec 21, 1941 to inform his family he was missing. Second telegram dated Jan 29 , 1942 to inform family that David had officially declared to have lost his life. 3. Placard with one star on it that families would hang in the window. 4. David's last letter to his mother dated Dec 2, 1941. This is a very sad letter, front and back of stationary sized paper. Envelope included. 5. Envelope dated July 31 , mailed from the USS Arizona from David to his mother in Topeka, Ks. 6. Newspaper
