This is a service medal from World War I, found in a drawer at an old house, and later given to me. The medal itself is in excellent condition, but its ribbon needs repair or replacing, as it has begun to deteriorate. I show detailed pics of both sides. On one side the words 'The Great War for Civilization' are inscribed with a list of the nations involved. The other side shows an angel ready for battle, holding a sword and shield. I believe the metal is bronze. The medal comes with the original pin used for wearing it on a uniform, but my wife says it could easily be worn as a necklace by adding a bail to hold a chain.
