WORLD'S FINEST #3 is a major PRE-WWII KEY BOOK (Autumn, 1941), with a fantastic FRED RAY Cover (He did World's Best #1 - then only #2, this cover, #4, 5, and 6 - that was all), which really set the tone for all World's Finest covers (of Superman and the Dynamic Duo having fun together) throughout the entire Golden Age, which would last until issue # 51 (in 1951). Inside, is 100 pages of Golden Age greatness, starting off with a Jerry Seigel scripted Superman story and an early appearance of Perry White. Seigel followed up with a wonderful early patriotic feature: Red, White, and Blue (remember the New York - based Comic publishers were way ahead of the general public on going after Hitler). Justice Society of America charter member, Johnny Thunder makes an appearance, with Thunderbolt, of course. An early Sandman adventure is also in the line-up, along with 2 detective stories ( Young Doc Davis, The King) and 2 men of magic (Lando, Zatara), and the comedy, Drafty. The crowing jewel of this book, is the Bill Finger scripted story of THE ORIGIN OF THE SCARECROW, drawn by Bob Kane (a rarety even this early on) with some work on secondary characters by Jerry Robinson. This book is graded in VG Condition, complete, with bright colors (EVEN HINT OF GLOSS ON REAR COVER) and cream pages, spine, edges, and corners are good, with slight wear
