Worlock Collection Spode Stone China Jug in the 2086 Stone Japan Pattern1812-33 Description A George Worlock Collection Spode Stone China Jug in the 2086 Stone Japan Pattern. The back mark, one of the earliest used on stone china, dates the jug to between 1812-33. George Worlock was a former Editor of the 'Spode Review'. He was an avid collector & expert of Spode. He was also a Friend of the Blue & White Spode Society & had indepth knowledge of Ceramics & collected all types & shapes. He was well respected in Spode circles. His entire lifetime collection of 400+ items was sold at auction in Stroud, Gloucestershire in June 2013. This piece has come from that sale. It still bears the Worlock Collection sticker. This mug was item 702 in the collection. The Jug is in good condition without any damage I can detect & measures 6.5" (16.5cm) from handle to spout x 4.5" (11.5cm) tall. There is a small original glaze crack inside the spout (photo) it does not go through the body. ***************** We would like to think we offer our buyers a 1st class service and certainly our feedback should give you the confidence to buy from us but some people still leave less than 5 star ratings with feedback.
