hi everyone... up for auction is a nice example of the elusive 1853 no arrows half dime!! this coin drove me bananas to photograph...i will try to enhance the pictures with a description...first please look at my feedbacks as a seller..no BS here, I TRY TO PLEASE!.. second, coin is an authentic example, bought at a westchester coin show 10 years ago from a very reliable dealer.. the coin has probably been lightly wiped, as all these coins are as has since retoned to a nice steel gray..very pleasing in hand, much better than these photos can show i assure you..nice prominent even borders on the obverse,nice full stars, strong date (arrowless) and some lines in the shield can be seen..the remnant of a few letters also there..a fine example!! ( a few denticles at 7-9 oclock can also be seen) The reverse has a strong even legend, with the words half dime nice and easily seen...for accuracy, the reverse at 10 oclock has the slightest indent which does not show up on the obverse (insignificant) the coin is also not bent as many of these tiny half dimes are with nice reverse borders also...this is a great collector piece, much better than most that are being put up for auction...i was happy with it and i am sure you will be too...elusive ,elusive coin!! a nice surviving example!!
