You are bidding on a MONSTROUS PETERSON HAND-MADE Republic Era Estate Smoking Pipe . That's right - HAND-MADE! I have never seen a Peterson like this. My guess is that it was a special order? I can't tell if the inlay in the stem is brass or gold but it is very shinny. The finish is clean with some beautiful rustication . I can find no fills or and only minor signs of wear. The inside of the chamber does show some moderate, uneven wear. My guess is the previous owner was left handed and his light charred the inside right of the bowl. None-the-less, the pipe walls are clean and free of any cracking. It has been well treated and should last many, many years. The stem design is a p-lip and is clean and tight. It shows only minor nicks and teeth marks (see pics for the best gauge of condition.) I have used a super macro lens so you can see details that the naked eye might miss. It's important to me that this pipe fit you well so please ask me any questions before bidding. This is a solid and striking pipe that will stand out well in your rotation. I have started this bid at $ 9.00 so you might just steal it !!!!!! The pipe has been cleaned, reamed and given a salt/alcohol treatment. I applied 2 coats of wax and buffed it on a wheel.
