#WP226 RARE mark Japanese Glass Ball Fishing Float MINT The float is 3.5" diameter or 11.25" circumference light greenish aqua marine mouth-blown ball. REAL COOL LOOKING TEXTURED SYMBOL. The symbol takes up most of the seal button and is just under 1" square. See photos. This float was used as a working Japanese fishing float. It is in GREAT beachcombed condition with minimal wear of working fishing floats that have spent their life at sea. It is made with clear heavy thick glass with impurities, inclusions and bubbles from the Japanese manufacturing technique. This mark is described in Walt Pich's GLASS BALL float reference book as mark #226. Description on page 145: Occasionally a mark appears that has no resemblance to any other mark from that country. Definitely a trademark, this symbol is one of the most interesting stamps found on Japanese glass ball. It is a grouping of four individual characters that, together, form a square. Each of the four segments has a fine textured surface." The integrity of this float is very sound. T are no cracks or chips on this float. The seal button edge is smooth and chip-free. This glass ball is in MINT CONDITION for a working fishing float.
