PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A TRUE NO-RESERVE AUCTION, STARTING AT JUST $19.99!! This auction is for a Dutch silver ducatoon dated 1663, recovered from the Wreck of The Hollandia. The obverse has a bust of Philip IV. The reverse features a crowned coat of arms flanked by rampant lions. This coin was salvaged from the 1743 wreck of the Hollandia, near Cornwall, England, and has substantial corrosion from the seawater. The Hollandia was a Dutch East Indiaman which sank on its maiden voyage from Amsterdam to Batavia (now Jakarta), with all aboard perishing. The coin is approximately 42mm in diameter and weighs roughly 30.7 grams . I grade this coin as being in Fine condition, with very rough and porous surfaces from seawater immersion, which is the norm for any examples of shipwrecked silver coins. However, grading is subjective, so please look at the pictures carefully, since the coin photographed is the exact item you will receive. I am offering this Rare piece at a starting price of just $19.99, although I personally paid a significant multiple of that price years ago. So, please give it a look. Terms and Payment: I accept PayPal only. The coin will ship by First-Class Mail with Insurance & Delivery Confirmation through the U.S. Postal Service. Shipping charges are $5.95 for the first item and $1.00 for each additional item. Please check read more
