Selling - without reserve - an outstanding collection of WW I memorabilia to include a rare signed award certificate and medal for the Chateau Thierry (cote 204) battle. The signed award certificate is inscribed W.J. Valensi - corporal - 12th regiment d' artillery. The certificate reads: Republic of France - City of Chateau Thierry - to the heroes of - hill 204. To those who stopped the german invasion and were the artisans of victory. The city of Chateau Thierry standing on its ruins, dedicates this medal in testimony of its gratitude. The name of W.J. Valensi is inscribed in the book of gold of combatants of hill 204 and the deliverance of Chateau Thierry. The original mailing tube from Wash. D.C. - 2nd Div. Assn. is included in the sale. The second item included is the medal with blue ribbon - with raised figureheads of Washington and Lafayette on the frontside and backside - La Victoire apparat - Chateau Thierry - 18 Juliet 1918 - Metal banner at the top.The sale also contains original dog tags for medal winner W.J. Valensi - U.S.A. # 128780.Additionally a photo of Corp.
