Welcome to Mouse in the Attic E-Bay Store! I may be new to E-Bay selling, but I have 25 years experience and have a small Main Street Store front with a strong reputation for quality items in a small community . You are bidding on a pair of WWI memoribilia shell casings, fashion into vases or fireplace matchstick holders, or any use of decorative memorabilia that you may have for them. They are about 18" Tall and 4" in radius. One is marked DEC75 .278 and the other is DEC75 16R. The firing pin has been fired and the powder burns are still on the insides of the shell casings. The women who has these on consignment is a retired school teacher and tells me that her father brought them home in 1920. Both are like pounded tin work on brass. Very artfully done. The person new what they were doing. They both have the imprint pounded in of an Oak Leaf. I'm not sure what that signifies, but it must be something strong and tall, is all I can think of, or an insignia of perhaps the battalions that fought the offensives. One says "Argonne" 1918 and the other says "Mihiel" 1918. These are in memorial of the first and last European Offensives, lead in 1918 with Gen. McArthur.
