You are bidding on an original World War II U.S. military issued Model 1943 Folding Entrenching Shovel that is in un-issued condition. This beautiful condition shovel is marked on the right edge U.S. WOOD 1944 in three lines. The paint finish on this entrenching tool is truly amazing. The blade shows no signs of ever being in the dirt, no scratches or dings. T is some wear along the point and leading edges probably from handling and being moved around on a shelf. T is also some wear on the rivet heads on the bottom or out side of the blade. T is some wear on the top of the folding joint w it has been opened and locked in the open position. Also the washer that bears on this joint still has most of the OD paint on it. The wood handle has some scrapes on it. The most noticeable wear to the paint is on the ball at the lower end. T is a ¼" hole thru the ball part of the handle that looks like it was put t after manufacture, as t is no paint in the hole. Overall condition of this amazing World War II entrenching shovel is excellent plus. U. S. buyers pay Priority Mail postage and optional insurance. International shipping will be more.
