You are bidding on a brown tea pot made in England measuring approximately 5 1/2" high (to tip of lid) and approximately 8" wide (tip of spout to end of handle). Although this tea pot has no chips or cracks, the appliqued paint of yellow, pink and red flowers have peeled off in some spots, as I hope you can see from my photographs. The pot has been stored away for a long time so is dusty, but I do not want to clean it in order not to further disturb the paint of the flowers which is peeling. The interesting part of this teapot is that the lid is marked "For England and Democracy." The bottom is marked "World War II Made In England Escorted to USA by Royal Navy." I have read that these teapots apparently were sold in the United States to raise money for the British war effort. Please email if you have any questions or would like to see more photographs of the painted flowers which are or have peeled off. Winning bidder to pay for priority shipping and handling.
