WW I Military Cross Medal & Case.....On June 27, 1917 Captain RR Layte N.S.H. was one of the soilders that captured the town of Eluidit Leauvette France ....he was awarded this military cross Oct 20th 1917 at Buckingham Palace by King George....original 8.5" X 6" Telegram requesting his presence to receive the Cross, The original 5"X7" Photo of Layte and his bride leaving the Palace...2 different Newspaper Clips that mention the award...and little copied text of some history of Layte... ....Case is rough...cross medal has some tarnish...ribbon some age..original case...not out of case in 70 yrs...telegram and newspaper clips mounted on paper yellowed with age...still able to read the pencil telegram note though...Photo mounted paper is MINT...I love the photo myself....nice.....
