Well! I have never seen anything like this done before! - a WW1 Christmas Tin, with a photo of Princess Mary and an accompanying Greetings Card mounted in an oak framed picture (no glass), with a red velvet back ground. The tin is in fairly good condition outside and in, but the base is marked, as you can see from the photo. The tin comes out from the frame, but unfortunately, the photo and the greetings card have been glued. The framing for this was done a long time ago, by the look of the back, (original nails holding in the board). It has written on the back the name F Newth, Picture Frame & Overmantel Maker, Lawrence Hill, Bristol. The oak frame and velvet are in good condition for the age. Someone obviously treasured this montage. A rather unusual item!
