Up for bid is an original World War One US Army canteen and cover; the cover is named and unit marked for the 304th Artillery Regiment of the 77th Division. Either the number 66 or 99 is also stenciled on the bottom of the cover. The maker of the cover is WSC and the date of manufacture is 1917. The cover has a tag on the interior of one of the flaps which names it to Theodore Lacik and the canteen has his stylized initials on the front; these are pictured. The numbers 1222139 and 147 are scratched into the bottom of the canteen; no date or maker's marks are present on the canteen. The canteen lid screws on fine but the cork is missing. As can be seen from the pics the canteen definitely has that "been t" look with multiple dents to the canteen and several splits on the cover; t is tearing around both of the LTD female fasteners but they are still attached to the cotton.International bidders are welcome; all buyers, international and domestic, must Be sure to check out the seller's other militaria auctions, featuring items of many nations, and from many eras, with new items added daily.
