WW1 BRITISH ARMY FIFE AND CASE DATED 1915 - in excellent clean condition. Very nice and rare piece Fife breaks down into two pieces. The case is marked R. Stafford 1915 and measures approx 28 cms x 7.8 cms x 3.2 cms. Both parts of t.he Fife are marked STARCK BARNES & SONS WEST NORWOOD LONDON (BROAD ARROW MARK) 46 . The white metal band nearest the mouth piece is marked 3 7 WR 5, The leather case is marked (by hand - contemporary marking) No 5 H M. The keys appear to be in good order but I daresay after 97 years the pads could do with replacing although it still plays. I think that is probably made of ebony. It measures approx 37.5 cms . You may have ti wait a long time to see another one as good as this.
