is a rare and seldom seen P 1903 Enfield Bayonet in superb condition manufactured by Wilkinson of Pall Mall, London between 1903 & 1907. The Wilkinson inspection mark of Crown over 49 over W is on one side of the ricasso. These bayonets are rare being produced in limited quanties and are never auctioned in quanity on Ebay. The P 1903 was modeled after the Pattern 1888 Lee Metford bayonet which is considered by some to be the finest British Infantry bayonet ever manufactured. Early P 1903's were often remanufactured P 88 bayonets having the same blades. However, this is an original P 1903. This P 1903's double edged blades have never been sharpened and are in excellent condition with no pitting. Hilts of the blade are inscribed with Dari Dialect denoting Regimental Affiliation. I picked a large lot of these up while in Afghanistan. The latch & grips are also in very good condition.Grips show some service marks, bruises. Early issue brown frog type scabbard is in good condition. However, it is missing the leather belt loop to attach to the uniform. Leather on the scabbard is in good condition. Stiching is slightly loose at vthe top of the scabard. Overall, an outstanding example of a P 1903 bayonet and scabbard. I will ship internationally depending on your countries customs regulations.
