DescriptionVery scarce certificate and song book! The certificate was created by the Conseil Municipal of the town of Saint Mihiel on 15 February 1936 to honour the American soldiers of the 1st American Army under General Pershing who, on 12 and 13 September 1918, successfully attacked the Saint Mihiel salient which was impeding communications between Paris and Nancy and helped pave the way to victory on the Western Front.
