World War I "Hate Belt" -Imperial German, with 20 regimental buttons that include artillery and naval units. The "Gott Mit Uns" buckle is brass. The belt is 32" long by 1-5/8" wide. The men in the trenches of World War I had a lot of time between battles. Some created trench art from shell casings, buttons, belts, cap badges, and other captured items. Some hate belts were made from badges and buttons gatd in trench raids for intelligence purposes - but sometimes soldiers just hated the enemy...hence the name "hate belt." _________________________________________________________ International buyers: We recommend USPS Express Mail International.
