This auction: A rare postcard showing a bronze table medal from the imperial Japan. Inscribed 'Crown Prince Overseas Voyage Commemorative, Taisho 10 [1921] March 3.' The image shows Crown Prince Hirohito, later the Showa Emperor. The reverse of the medal is shown. I have included a picture of the actual medal beside the postcard, but this is not included in this auction. This auction is only for the postcard. 'In 1921, Hirohito took a six-month tour of Europe , including the United Kingdom , France , Italy, the Netherlands , and Belgium , becoming the first Japanese crown prince to travel abroad. After his return to Japan, he became Regent of Japan ( Sesshō ) on November 29, 1921, in place of his ailing father who was affected by a mental illness.' (from Wikipedia) Unused.
